Kari Zimmerman: 2026 Professor of the Year

Dr. Kari Zimmerman, an associate professor and chair of the Department of History, was named 2026 Professor of the Year 2026. A scholar of Latin American history, she was also honored this year with the USG Distinguished Educator Award. As the inaugural director of Latin American and Caribbean Studies, she has opened doors for students and fostered a culture of belonging. Honorees Celebrated at Academic Affairs Ceremony

During the 2026 Annual Faculty Meeting, several faculty and staff received honors for their service. The meeting shed a spotlight on several Tommies. In addition to earlier mentioned special faculty honors from Academic Affairs, they celebrated the following.
Eric Frost, associate professor and department chair in the College of Arts and Sciences, received the Undergraduate Research Mentor Award from the UROP Faculty Board.
Caleb Goltz, assistant professor, director of Legal Studies and Legal Skills, and Pre-Law adviser, was chosen by students as the Aquinas Scholars Advisor of the Year.
Student Diversity and Inclusion Services selected Karen Lange, vice president for student affairs for its Outstanding Commitment Award.
Christopher Wong Michaelson, Opus College of Business professor and Barbara & David A. Koch ("coach") Endowed Chair in Business Ethics, was named the recipient of the Excellence in Academic Advising award.
Daniel Pioske, an associate professor in the College of Arts and Sciences, was recognized by students as this year's Aquinas Scholars Program Professor of the Year.
Ron Raymond, an adjunct professor in the Management Department in the Opus College of Business, received this year's Undergraduate Student Government Distinguished Educator award. |

Priscilla Jimenez Wins Sustainability Award

Dr. Priscilla Jimenez, Department of Computer and Data Sciences, received the 2026 Curricular Innovation in Sustainability Award. Jimenez was honored for her innovative integration of sustainability into her section of CISC 480: Senior Capstone.
